Beyond Pumpkin and Orange.
Farmhouse is probably one of the most popular decorating trends currently, and that design template seems to rely almost solely on white. I truly appreciate a room skillfully dressed in white slipcovers, throws, baskets, and the likes, but that is not our house. But I do like to use a modest number of white accents, and this fall, in particular, I've chosen neutrals combined with whites rather than an over-use of the deeper tones.
I have put together a list of five ideas for you to think about. And I do want to mention here that many of the accessories I'm showcasing are thrifted. I don't want you to feel discouraged if you don't have a large decorating budget. Some of my favorite things are from second-hand stores.
Let's get started~
1. Try using white dishes on your autumn table. I know that we tend to think of white tablescapes as a summer thing. But when white plates are paired with off-white, beige and other neutral accessories, the white does not appear as glaring and out of place. I really like the way the gold-rimmed dessert plates, and the copper mugs tone down the pure white.
3. White ceramic pieces or English ironstone is classic. Here is another favorite thrift find. I love these artichokes! They feel very fall even though they are white. Eye-catching white ceramics can add a lot of emphasis to your decor.
